On the trail of ancient civilizations and the best Bulgarian beaches
An expedition through Rhodopes and Stara Planina (Balkan)off roads: high mountain peaks, marble gorges and the famous Orpheus cave. All that and breathtaking views amid secluded villages on the Bulgarian-Greek borderland. We split our journey so that you have enough time to explore not only nature but also take advantage of the off road driving possibilities. Another option is to just hang out, swim and sunbathe. There’s adrenalin fuelled cave exploring and of course the amazing gorge.
During the expedition we will stay overnight in a traditional nineteenth century house, explore the local vineyards and encounter one of the last wild beaches in Bulgaria –near the Emine cap: prepare yourself for some of the best grilled fish you will ever eat!
We start 30 kilometres east of Sofia on Sunday morning and finish on the beach around 30km north of Burgas on Saturday evening.
Requirements:
Minimum serial 4x4 vehicle, minimum MT tyres, CB radio.
As we spend most nights camping you will need to have camping equipment.
We fully believe that the best expeditions are small, intimate ones so we’ve decided to limit the number of cars in the fleet to a maximum of 5 per tour.
